What we collect, why, who can see it, and how to remove it.
Our role
BidBoy is a marketplace that helps customers find and contact independent local businesses. BidBoy is not a party to any job, does not employ the businesses listed, does not perform the work, and does not process payments for jobs. Customers and businesses agree on price, scope, timing and payment directly.
Accounts
When you sign up we store your email address and, if you use Google sign-in, your name and profile photo from Google. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to BidBoy staff.
Business accounts also store the business name, service category, city, description and availability you enter.
Job requests and photos
A job request contains your description, the service, timing, city, optional ZIP/postal code and any photos you add. Photos are resized on your device before upload and stored privately.
Requests start as private drafts. Once published, they are shown only to matching local businesses, never as a public listing.
Location
We ask for your city and optionally a ZIP/postal code. We do not ask for or show your exact address on a job request. You share a precise address directly with the business you choose, in messages.
Phone verification
Phone verification is required before a request is sent to businesses. Your phone number is used to confirm you are a real person and to prevent spam. It is not shown to businesses unless you share it yourself. Text-message verification is not yet live.
Contact information
Your email and phone are not shown to businesses. Contact happens in BidBoy messages after you choose a business.
Messages
Messages are visible only to the customer and the business in that conversation. BidBoy may review messages when one of them is reported, to investigate safety or abuse.
Reviews
Reviews you write are visible to the business they describe. Only customers with a completed BidBoy job can leave one.
Notifications
We send in-app notifications about your jobs, bids and messages. If email notifications are enabled, they are only about your own activity, and every email includes an unsubscribe link.
Third-party providers
We use providers for hosting, database and file storage, sign-in (including Google), and email delivery. They process data only to run BidBoy. We do not sell your personal information or use it for third-party advertising.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Database access rules limit each account to its own records and to records it is party to. No system is perfectly secure; tell us right away if you suspect misuse.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time — see Account Deletion. Some records may be kept for a limited time when required by law or to investigate abuse.
